Overview
Enabling multi-chain support beyond EVM compatible networks significantly expands the suite of options available for users and developers. Traditionally, dapps are how a large portion of users interact with MetaMask, and adding support for additional chains and layer 2 networks L2s via Snaps means enabling additional dapps as well.
MetaMask would like to prioritize Snaps that enable access to layer 1 and layer 2 networks with significant user adoption and developer activity.

Best Practices for Proposals
Here are some hard requirements that our team expects to see:
- Must be open-source
- Free to use (or availability of a free tier in pricing model, if relevant)
- Teams should have a reasonable timeline in when they expect their project to hit the market (please include a roadmap in your proposal). We are running RFPs in one-month increments, and our grant program is operating with quarterly goals and key objectives
