Key Management Solutions
OverviewReducing Fund Loss Incidents (FLI’s) is a top priority for MetaMask. Making transactions easier to understand, and protecting users from phishing and other hacks, is made possible through the Snaps transaction insights API. Snaps can thus hook into the pre-transaction workflow and provide transaction decoding and other information to better inform users about potentially risky transactions.
Security Solutions
OverviewEnabling multi-chain support beyond EVM compatible networks significantly expands the suite of options available for users and developers. Traditionally, dapps are how a large portion of users interact with MetaMask, and adding support for additional chains and layer 2 networks L2s via Snaps means enabling additional dapps as well.
Chain/L2
OverviewIt is likely that the killer dapps that enable MetaMask to grow to 100M users or 1B users will not be another DeFi or NFT use case but rather something new and compelling in the areas of gaming or social communication. Snaps enables deep integration at the wallet level for features such as authentication, notifications, and messaging. To this end, Snaps can support use cases for gaming and social communication, including DAO tooling (i.e. notifications and voting tools for DAOs) and leveraging open messaging protocols. Likewise, these Snaps can work in parallel with the MetaMask SDK to enable dapps for web, mobile, and Unity-based experiences.
